Events in the lives of missionaries

Tiko and Lena Agamalian, Missionaries serving in Lithuania  (Eastern Europe)

The Agamalian family has been home on furlough these past months.  Tiko has been reporting to many of their supporting churches.  Most recently he has visited churches in Arizona and California.  He praises the Lord for providing great meetings.  In the middle of this recent trip he had to return to Kansas City for his appointment regarding naturalization.  The meeting went off on a positive note with an officer who was favorable and pleasant.  There is however, some additional work before a final decision is made.  Pray that the naturalization cases of both Tiko and Lena will be determined in the near future so they can begin making plans to return to their work in Lithuania.  Pray for the health of their children.

Text Box: Joshua and Barbara Hedges, Missionaries serving in Chad
The generators have been down for more than two weeks! They have at least one period each day where water is available and that usually lasts for 2 - 3 hours. At this time they gather water in containers to last until it comes on again. Here's what happens when there is no electricity:
           No working fans
Computer and cell phone has to be sent home with co-workers to be charged which means there is limited work on prayer letters and ministry
           No working refrigerator
           No working washing machine
Josh and co-workers have been working to get their generator to a battery system. While doing this they found there were part needed which co-workers home in the U.S. were able to bring to them.
Pray that the battery run generator will work for them to facilitate the cooling of the home, the use of electrical equipment, access to running water. Pray that the Hedges will be able to adjust to the heat. As I read their letter I thought "how much I take for granted here in the U.S." (Turning a switch to have light. Turning a faucet to get a drink or take a shower. Turning on a fan to cool off. ) How thankful are we?

Text Box: Larry Pieri, Missionary serving in Italy
Last summer Marilyn Pieri was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Just before the end of the year God took Marilyn to her Eternal rest. God has sent a co-worker, Marcelo, an Argentian who had been living in Spain. He has been used to speak to hearts about salvation and encouraging believers. God has used Marcelo to help with the youth ministry, especially with Edison who is very open to the Gospel. Joseph is finishing his last semester of homeschooling ; both Faith and Joseph plan to attend Northland Baptist Bible College in the fall. Larry plans to take a short furlough beginning in May, returning to his home church in Greenbay, WI. He will see that his children are settled into college life with plans to return to the work in Italy in September. Pray that God will give him direction for his future ministry as he continues to serve in Italy.
