Dr. Ronald L. Allen I have been involved in Christian ministry since 1966 as a youth pastor/assistant pastor and senior pastor. When God called me to preach in 1958 I had no idea what He had in store for me. From the first message I preached at age 18 to the present, I have remained faithful to preaching the whole counsel of God. I have always believed that God called me to preach and that I would leave where I was to preach up to Him. In the midst of a 26 year pastorate to Calvary Baptist Church of San Francisco God stirred my heart for World Evangelism. Through the preaching of Dr. Bud Calvert I became aware that in order for missions to accomplish a purpose in a local church it had to be more than just a program; it had to come from a heart of passion. During the last half of my pastorate I saw God do many amazing and miraculous things through a body of believers who became passionate for reaching the world with the Gospel of Christ. This passion for World Evangelism and World Evangelists has led me to retire from the pastorate and devote my remaining years of ministry to encourage missionaries at home and abroad as He gives us opportunity. Barbara and I have no idea what God has in store for our future, we only know that today we want to serve Him in any capacity he sees fit to send our way. Like Abraham of old, we have left our homeland to go to a land only God knows. We are content to rest in His knowledge of our next place of service, full aware that He knows the way we should take. "Thou wilt shew me the path of life, in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for ever more." Psalm 16:11

Barbara Jean Allen
I was ten years old, when after a presentation in Junior Church by missionaries Stan and Mary Barthold who were serving in Japan, I realized I was a sinner, needing a Savior., I exchanged my life for His Life and received His Eternal Life. It seems that from the beginning of this new life I had an interest in Missions and Missionaries. When Mission Conference time came each year I could hardly wait to meet these wonderful people from all parts of the world. Through the years of our ministry this interest has continually been kindled and grown. Through various methods and means of having Mission Conferences where we have served; through personal relationships with missionaries; through planning, organizing, setting up conferences, and from personal visits to the fields of Victoria, Canada, Singapore and Vietnam my heart has been stirred and challenged to be an encourager to missionaries. It's been a joy to be identified and involved in the Passion for Missions/Missionary's for the past 26 years in Calvary Baptist Church of San Francisco. Through all of this God has stretched our faith to the place where we have to submit and go through an unfamiliar door of ministry. It's with great anticipation that we look forward to helping local churches with missions through conferences, mission trips, counseling, encouraging missionaries at home and on their fields and just be available "To be used of God" however and wherever He desires to use us. |
